The Saucy Fish Co. TV ad makes an impact on Glasgow art pupils

Cast your minds back to January, when our fun and fabulous animated Saucy Fish Co. TV advert appeared across TV screens nationwide. Well, the quirky advert made a real impression – particularly on a group of Glasgow schoolchildren, who were so impressed by Tracey Worrall’s unique illustrations featured in the advert, that they used it as inspiration in their art studies.

Art pupils from Bellahouston Academy studied Tracey Worral’s illustration techniques – creating a series of fish-themed paintings to be featured in Healthy Recipe booklets that home economics students were compiling.

Pauline Bain – an art teacher from Bellahouston Academy commented: “ This has been such a valuable exercise for the children, as it gives them a real insight into the world of advertising and graphic design – and hopefully some will go on to study this beyond secondary school.”

We were just so impressed with the quality of the artwork, we couldn’t keep them to ourselves – so have a look at a selection below!
