New Food Programmes Return to the TV Menu

If like us you just can’t get enough of great TV food programmes, and enjoy challenging yourself by trying some of the fantastic recipes showcased, learning about all the weird and wonderful foods from other countries, and finding inspiration for your own recipes, you really are in for a treat this year!

Late summer to autumn is traditionally when the nation’s favourite TV chefs return with their new TV series, and this year’s schedule is no different.  Here at Saucy Fish HQ we have lots of favourites including Come Dine with Me, Sunday Brunch and The Great British Bake Off, but it’s the brand new series from Nigella Lawson, the Hairy Bikers and Rick Stein which we just can’t wait to tune into.

Nigella Lawson, aka The Domestic Goddess, will be returning to our screens with her brand new series, Nigellissima. And as you might have guessed it has an Italian twist! The glamorous chef will be showing us how easy it is to bring the taste of Italy into our homes using ingredients available in any English supermarket – we’re thinking a beautiful Shrimp Alfredo!

She will be joined by the hilarious Hairy Bikers as they return to BBC2 as the Hairy Dieters!  In their new series, The Hairy Dieters: How To Love Food And Lose Weight, Si King and Dave Myers will be using tips and recipes from the British public, and encouraging you to join them on their quest to lead a healthier lifestyle.

And finally, one of our favourite TV chef’s Rick Stein will be cooking up a storm as he travels across India in a search for the perfect curry. We personally can’t wait for this series, especially the final programme, where he puts six of the best recipes discovered on his travels to a panel of curry aficionados in Bradford. At this rate, we’re going to struggle to tear ourselves away from our TV screens!

Smoked Haddock with Dill Vinegarette was delicious with Petit Poise and battered scallop potatoes. Going for the Sea Bass next……
